Pallet Policy

Local freight has strict policies in place for pallets. Transfer and exchange of pallets is only available for Chep and Loscam pallets and all plain pallets will be considered disposable and will not be returned to the sending parties. All pallets must be clean, free of debris and have all pallet boards intact for collection. 

Pickups

Local freight will exchange pallets on pickups that require so, if our driver does not have any pallets on-board to exchange. We will drop the pallets owed on the next vehicle in the area or the sender may transfer onto Local freight's account. If transferring onto Local Freight's account, the sender is required to call Local freight’s pallet control (07 32715028) to ensure it is accepted.

Transfer dockets must quote Local freight consignment number as a reference number on the physical transfer docket, this enables complete transparency for the efficiency of pallet control. 

Deliveries

Local Freight will exchange at the receiving premises on a one for one basis. If the pallets are not available, the pallets will be transferred to the receiver’s account. If the receiver does not have an account, the customer will be liable for a fee nominated by Local Freight. Local Freight has the right to refuse delivery if none of the above are achievable.

Transfers

Local Freight will only accept transfers that have been prearranged / approved. Chep and Loscam account numbers can be supplied at request.

Local Freight reserves the right to: 

  • Reject any movements deemed unrecoverable at the point of delivery. 
  • Correct any discrepancies of quantities. 

Two copies of the transfer docket are required as a minimum and will need to be supplied along with all other documentation for the collection of freight.
